North American Wildlife: North American Bears: Photos of polar bear moms and cubs in Wapusk National Park
In previous years at Wapusk National Park we would see polar bear moms and cubs about 30% of our days on safari. This year we only saw one family, but we saw them on nine out of ten days.
The guides found this family on the second day of the safari season. Normally the families leave for the bay within a day or two of coming out of their den. This family hung around for a month before leaving for the bay. The cubs were very active and the mom would come toward the photographers a couple times a day making for great photographic opportunities.
